I will be HOME in the USA Monday morning around 9:30AM! 12 hour non stop flight with no booze, screaming, ill mannered, un diciplined, obnoxious brats, stinky, unwashed people.
With any luck, both my kids will be in Concord when I get off the bus, at least I hope so.
Looks like it will rain all week too.

BLOG ENTRY WARNING. TODAY'S ENTRY MAY CONTAIN MAJOR OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE and NOT SO NICE TALK ABOUT THE "NATIVES" WHERE I LIVE. SO IF THIS SORT OF TALK WILL OFFENDS YOU, PLEASE DON'T READ.
I did my walk this morning, this fucking humidity is miserable. Even though the temp said it was 75 at 9:30, the humidity had to be up around 90%. I had gotten to the end of my street, maybe 45 seconds and I was already sweating. BUT I persevered and walked for 49 minutes, 2.2 miles. YAY YAY ME! Oh and I haven't taken a shower after my walk. Why not? Well because the assholes here cut the water pressure down or cut the water off totally EVERY fucking week day at 10AM until 1PM. I have no idea why, but they do.
When I do my walks the TCNs (Third Country Nationals that this country hires to do meanial labor) all just scowl at me. There are maybe 2 or 3 that will actually smile and say hello or nod when I walk by, but most of them just frown. They are out there all day in the heat and humidity with bright yellow jumpsuits sweeping the trash off the streets with tree branches. Yep, they don't have brooms, instead the brake off branches of bushes/trees and use them for brooms. They work 6 1/2 days a week for about $100 a month, which is about $85 more a month than they would make in their home countries of Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka or Bangladesh. We pay the guy that takes care of our yard more that his company does because he does a good job and he is a pet lover.
The lazy rat bastard rag head brats must be on school break, they are out doing their destruction on the compound. One brainless moron was playing in the irrigation water, now mind you the irrigation water is recycled shit water plain and simple. It's filtered a wee bit then used to water the plants and this moron was having fun stepping on the hose where water was spewing out watering the grassy area on the playground.
The other night when it rained, the brats next door, yes even the 3 year olds, were out running up and down the street bare foot in the water that was running down the street from other sections of the compound. Now even though the streets are swept every day, who knows what is flowing in that water besides all the trash, pull tabs, broken bottles and other assorted bad stuff that the morons throw on the ground.
Yep, I know the solution to this, pack my bags and move back to the USA. But answer this, If you had a secure job with decent pay & so so benefits in a not so great place, would you go back to your home country without a job where the economy sucked right now with a mortgage to pay, needing a new car in the middle of winter? As long as I have my fucked up Internet and my cross stitch I'll stay. I know I shouldn't complain either, DH has a job, I don't have to work, we have a roof over our heads, food to eat, so so health and our kids are fine, which I know is more than some people have.
Anyhow, that is my vent/rant for today but since the bastard brats are on school break, I'm sure I'll be good and pissed off this week.

Well that wet stuff is leaking from the sky today. It's dark, grey, overcast and humid today. That wet stuff that I think is called rain is just blobbing down, not really sprinkling, just blobs from time to time, enough to make the street wet and a few small puddles.
UGGGGGHHHHH, apparently the brats are on some sort of a school break and there is a litter of about 2 dozen running around screaming outside. They've been pulling the leaves & flowers off my bushes in MY yard outside several times and I've run them off. They think it's funny and they can go where ever they want to. They have NO manners, NO respect for ANYTHING OR ANYONE! If this keeps up, I will definately be calling the compound manager and complaining.
Thank goodness last night we cleaned up the last of the wild mushroom & leek soup, it was good the first night , ok the second night but I'm glad it's gone. I think I am going to look for another bag of that and not add as much to it the next time I fix it. It was good! Tonight is Chicken fried steak, steamed vegetables & salad.
The flowers I ordered for Brenda's birthday were delivered on Monday, a day late but that is what I get for ordering them late. I hope she likes them.
There were more CUTE valentine patterns posted last night from the SanMan board. They can be stitched up as ornaments for a Valentine tree. They are for message board members only so I can't post the link for them. I also need to stitch up my Coloring Book page for Tranquil stitchers. That is a cute winter pattern too. Then there are SALS going on at Needle Nook that I need to keep checking on. Maybe I need to make a calendar someplace out of all these to keep me on track and stitching! Guess I better get going and stitch!

Another very fustrating day here, PMS must be kicking in today. You can tell it's Wednesday and the weekend, the internet is messed up again. I'm afraid to reboot the stupid ISP box for fear it won't come back on again.
One of the boards I post on is an absoulte mess! We moved over to the new board and it's been so messed up almost weekly it seems. Why did we even move over there if it's still in test mode?
I caught those damn neighbor brats trying to drag one of my cats out of MY YARD again today. They were trying to drag poor Max out from UNDERNEATH OUR CAR! I went out there and told them to leave the cat alone. The maids or nannys or whoever they are were just standing right there and did absoultely NOTHING!!! They gave me dirty looks of course for yelling at those snotty kids. Then the phone kept ringing during the evening and it was more snotty asshole kids that play with the phone all the time. I so wish we could get the caller ID activated on these phones so I know which villa these kids are calling from so I can report them too.
At least I made more progress on Scooba Dooba today. I did set a goal for what I wanted to stitch today and I got 95% of it done. I'm pretty pleased.

My father has surgery today to implant a pacemaker. I have lit candles and said many many prayers that all goes well. It's so hard to deal with being 6500 miles away. I know I will jump everytime the phone rings today and tomorrow.

Monday was the first day of the monthly Stitchathon at one of the boards I frequent. This is a big stitching booster for me, it helps me stitch more and get things done. Yesterday I finished the stitching part on my Blackwork SAL and put in a few beads. I stitched the February pattern with House of Embroidery Threads Snaps. I really like the color and this one stitched up fast.
I saw MORE new designs from the Nashville market and added a lot of them to my wish list. There are some VERY pretty designs out there!
I put my beef brisket in to soak in the brine and pickling spice so it will be ready for Corned Beef on St. Patricks day. For some reason, they don't sell corned beef here so we learned to make our own.
The neighborhood brats were at it again yesterday. About 5 of the heathen monsters were outside kicking a soccer ball into bushes again, riding a bike across everyone's yard and laughing. The other day I went outside to see what was going on and they all just stopped and stared at me like I had 2 heads. Then they decided to move my irrigation hose (poop water) in my yard so it would drain onto my patio. Luckily I went out and moved it so it would drain into the "flower" patch by the road. They thought that was real funny that they did that. Then they started chasing my cats and throwing stones. I went out and said to stop it. They thought that was hilarious. So I had had enough, I took my phone outside and "pretended" to call security to come stop them. As soon as I said security and pointed at them they all ran like the little rats that they are. If this keeps up I am going to take my camera outside and take their pictures which is something they don't like. Then they stood in my drive way harrassing my cat that was sitting inside the living room window and making faces. These little bastards had better stop if they know what is good for them or I will call the compound manager.
This morning the "gardner" guy came buy at 9:15 to clean the yard. He is not a real gardner at all, he's a guy from a third world country that works for about $100 a month cleaning the yards, sweeping the street, watering/trimming the trees, bushes & flowers around the houses and picking up trash. My husband pays him extra each month to keep the patio clean, wash the car and pay extra attention to the bushes & trees. So at 9:15 he comes buy, sweeps the patio, straightens up the chairs and table, brushes the table off with the broom, and takes the trash bag to the curb. Now if I wait, he will be back again between 3 & 4 and sweep the patio again. The patio doesn't really need to be swept 2 or 3 times a day. If I have my patio door open and the screen door shut, he still sweeps all the dust up and will not gt the hint that I don't want that mess in my house. He doesn't speak or understand much English so it's hard to tell him not to.

Another great day
Got up, dressed, checked e-mail & message boards then went outside on the patio again at 11:15 and stitched until 3:15 I started my San Man SAL called Oh Holly Night. I'm stitching it on 32 count green hand dyed fabric with a mixture of flosses. This fabric is really thick and heavy, I have no idea where it came from either. I don't remember if I got it in an exchange, if I won it in a contest, if I bought at at Yankee Cross stitch or if it was in a grab bag from an ONS.
More beautiful weather so it was very relaxing........until the brats from next door came out to play. One brats new thing is to take the plastic rocking horse by the handle and drag it up and down the street following the rest on their ride on toys and scream because she can't keep up. So I got out my little "boom box" and blasted my music to drown them out.
It was now noon wailing hour. There was a little kid wailing from one direction, another one sounded like a sick cow dying and yet another one was screeching like he had his balls caught in a vise.
Miracle of miracles! The TV was NOT on at ALL today! What a nice relaxing treat. So far today I've stitched for 6 hours

It's WEDNESDAY! The weekend! (Same as Friday to in the REAL world)
Got up, dressed, straightened up my stitching area, checked e-mail & message boards. Tried to vacuum but nothing is getting cleaned up. Checked the bag, cleaned out the wheels, the brush bar, the belt holder thing and still nothing. So much for my wednesday cleaning. Today does not seem like it's going to be a good day.
I thought those snotty brats had gone back to school but ALL morning it has been slam the door, scream, cry, slam the door, throw toys at the sister, scream, cry, slam the door, push sister down, scream, cry, slam the door. Kick the soccer ball at the 2 week old brand new car in our drive way, laugh, kick the soccer ball into the bushes, laugh, slam the door, scream, cry, throw stones at each other in the street. I'd love to just slap them all, complaining does no good either.
I stitched for quite awhile today and I'm very proud of my progress. To some it may not look like much at all, but it looks great to me. It's Scooba Dooba that was supposed to be a Christmas present for my husband but I didn't get it done in time. If I knew it would stitch this fast, I would have kept at it.

What greed! One of the boards I post on was having lots of contests. I entered 2 because I LIKED what the person was offering and I KNOW I would stitch them. I just noticed 1 persons name on 42 STRAIGHT posts, some of them all posted within seconds of one another. That is just plain GREED! Either that or trying to bump up post counts.

January 24
Got up, got dressed, TRIED to check e-mail and boards. Today the damn internet connection is horrible. There is a connection, but it's taking 5-10 minutes for pages to fully load, if at all. This is beyond annoying. I suppose I should just be glad we have internet in this god forsaken place. Our friends on dial up can't even connect at all. While I wait for pages to load I play Hoyles Solitare games.
WAHOO it's the weekend here, Wednesday here is like Friday in the REAL world, our weekends are Thursday & Friday.
The brats are out playing in the street screaming as usual. I'll be glad when school is back in again.

Got up, tried to check e-mail and found there is no internet conneciton. All of it is down. Did you know no matter how many times you reset your DLS box and beat on it, if the internet is down somewhere along the line it won't come up? This is just SO fustrating. We got the DLS because of the shitty dial up crap and 1/2 the time lately the internet is down everywhere! So I sat and stitched. This is the progress I made on my Blackwork SAL yesterday and in the early hours of this morning:
I'm stitching it on 28 count white lugana. This month I am using San-Man Strands floss in What a Teal. Each month the floss colors will be different to try and reflect the color of the month.
The bratty kids must be on school break. A whole litter of them were screaming in the street again this morning. These kids are rude, obnoxious, snotty, mean, undiciplined, ill mannered and totally disrespectful BRATS! Plain and simple. They think the whole compound is their playground and they can play WHEREVER they want to no matter who's yard it is. They don't speak or understand English so there is no telling them to go play in their own yards. They just laugh and think it's funny when you try to tell them go away. I was told 5 years ago when we moved to this villa on this street that it would be kept as a "Westerners" only street and NO "locals" would live here. HA, not so anymore. I so want a fence put up between my house and the houses on either side to keep the brats out. THEY are the ones who need to put the fences up since they are so anal obsessive about their privacy.
It is another nice, breezy, fairly cool day today. The thermometer said it was 93 at 2:30PM
Stitched for a couple more hours on my project, it is stitching up so fast, I can't believe it. Today I put in 1051 stitches in almost 5 hours.
