It's been 5 years!

5 years since I quit smoking and I haven't had one since!  It's an awesome anniversart but since quitting smoking I have developed diabetes, thyroid condition, gout, high blood pressure, added 30 lbs, bleah!  And now I can't stand the smell of smoke.

I haven't stitched much so nothing to show.

My grandson will be 13 next month!  My other grandson will be 6!  NO WAY!

So we are down to 2 of our own cats and 1 outside cat, but one of our babies is not good at all, he is nothing but fur and bones and he sleeps all the time.  He is only 11, we have taken him to the vets but the vets here do not have all the proper equipment to diagnose and treat animals.  Spot is DH's bestest friend.

Today is World Diabetes day and of course NOTHING is being done here in Sucky land.

No turkey this year, NONE!  Not 1 fucking frozen turkey in this fucking country!  So I'm stuck with duck, I have never eaten duck nor cooked it.

Still doing Sparkpeople but can't find my ambition or motivation.

My son's 31st birthday was Yesterday, I didn't get to talk to him but I did text him and he did respond.

So, that is the general round up of me.

Happy Anniversary

I got a lovely gift this morning but I won't post a picture of it. I just have to keep saying I love my cat, I love my cat, I love my cat. She must have known what day it was. That makes the 2nd gift in as many days. Last night it was a rather large gecko, this morning just in time for breakfast I got a bird and she was VERY animate about bringing it in side. She even gave nasty, mean growls to her brother letting him know that was HER breakfast.

So, will I be able to get home now because of this damn flu thing? Will flights to the USA be cancelled? This is just fucking fabulous!

Today's SparkPeople Day at a Glance calendar note says:
"Grow a garden. Watching plants grow and thrive under your care is a great exerience! Dig in with cheer, knowing you're beating stress, becoming more active, and surrounding your home with beauty."

My update

Ok, so where have I been? I hang out on www.sparkpeople.com
Tons of support, motivation, information and friendly advice for people trying to loose weight, eat healthy, get fit and feel better. There is so much to read and do that I am there a lot.

I'm not at a couple cross stitch boards like I used to be, one has too many flashy, blinking stuff in posts that it's impossible to spend time reading when it slows down so that I can't scroll through posts and read. Another board the new members are so whiny and want to be pampered and are so gushy/mushy hugs and "oh my feelings get hurt so easy", well put your big girl panties on and grow up! I'm still having problems with runboard groups but I think it is essentally the same as Yuku, too many flashy, blinking things just slow shit down. So rather than keep complaining and asking to cut down on the huge blinking things, I just quit going, it was fun while it lasted.

I've been walking, walking and exercising. I have walked 13 out of the past 15 days, 20+ miles and I'm damn proud of that. UNFORTUNATELY, that plate of Arabic sweets that just jumped into my cart the other day at the grocery store did not help at all, but damn it was so good. I haven't lost any pounds, just the same fucking 3 pounds keeps disappearing and coming back. I gotta get past this hurdle sometime.

The diabetes numbers go up and down. They are between 134-158 in the mornings before I eat, then go down during the day and stay down which is good. But I need to figure out how to keep them down in the morning without going on insulin. I don't eat junk and I DO watch what I eat.

I finished a cross stitch project last week, whopee. It was a February project from oakhaven designs for her SAL. Ya know, you HAVE to finish this, post a picture then send me an e-mail in order to get your next pattern and NO a wip picture will NOT do, you MUST FINISH THE PROJECT.

the DH & I were talking last week about mindless stuff and I said those dreaded 3 words, didn't get an answer. Ok, so waited a couple days, said them again, got something like "that's nice" or just a smile but no real response. Ok asshole, so I guess he doesn't love me, time to move on then. I'll have to try and detatch my self somehow this summer so I can be come cold and heartless too.
Speaking of this summer, I won't be going anyplace exotic this year like Frankfurt, Rome, Paris or London. Looks like I'll be getting on a plane 'HERE" and getting off in JFK, non stop, no alcohol, but I guess if that is what is cheapest, I've done it before. Then fly to Bahstan and take the bus home. Hmmmm, wonder if I could take a side trip on NY? I'll have to check and see what the Yankees schedule is for that day, LOLOLOL.

Speaking of YANKEES!!! SPRING TRAINING STARTED! WOOOO HOOOOOOOOO, the boys are back, well almost. Pitchers and catchers were supposed to report on the 13th and practice was supposed to start on the 14th. I'll have to check around to see.

The septic system at my house in NH is messed up. DS has been such a good son and going up after the snow/ice storms and shoveling the roof and our deck off for us. A couple times he noticed that the pipes were backing up in our downstairs bathroom. So he called the septic company, they were very rude to my DIL and said someone had to be there, they had to have the tank cover off and that it SHOULD be pumped out every 2 years. Well, sorry, I've never really dealt with this stuff before and I was under the impression it didn't need to be pumed out that often since we aren't there that often. So DIL gets to the house, spends almost 2 hours trying to break through the ice to uncover it and they called the next day and said "well if it's iced over then we can't come clean it out, if no one is there then it won't be a problem, call back when the snow melts" ARGGGGGGGGGGG!

My stitchy friend Kristin tagged me on her blog:

When Life Gives You Lemons...

I guess I'm one of the people who make lemonade...or as Soralis says, maybe I'm the pause that refreshes (hehe, don't know why that strikes me as funny but it does). I was given the Lemonade Stand Award by Kristin.

Here are the rules for The Lemonade Stand Award:
1. You must link back to the person you received the award from.
2. You have to nominate 10 bloggers who are deserving of this award!

So, thank you Kristin. The following people are either the pauses that refresh me or they have made lemons into lemonade. I don't know if I can name 10 bloggers that can rise up and be positive but I'll try.
Kristin is one, Jen Velda, Dee, Margaret, Venessa, I guess that's all the blogs I read.

I have cooked every day again, last night was roast beef with carrots & potatoes, I had 1/2 a sweet potato, salad, applesauce and Tofu Chocolate Cake. The cake was ok I guess, I didn't have the right tofu though. It called for soft/dessert and all I had was extra firm so I added extra cherry juice and chocolate soy milk.
I know I said I would post the recipe for the squash macaroni & cheese and I will soon. It was ok but not something I will make a regular.

Gotta take Annie cat (aka the cat from hell) to the vets today, we think she has a tooth problem. She slept ALL day Wednesday and Thursday and didn't eat anything, she didn't eat much on Friday, Saturday she did eat but sort of gagged and pawed at her mouth. Oh what fun, last time the bitch went to the vets, she tried to go through the atrium window in the vets office just to get away. She will have to be sedated in order for him to look at her mouth.

The brat bastards are still off school, hope they go back soon, it's overcast again today but still did my walk.
Okee dokee, I think that about catches me up. Sorry to worry ya'll but you can e-mail me if you want to chat.

Is it nap time yet?

It's only noon here, 87F, I'm tired, I pushed myself to do my walk this morning. I figured if I did my walk I would be energized, invigorated and refreshed. Nope, I am tired, I want to take a nap. I got home and guess what? All the doors were locked and I didn't have a key. I forgot to unlock the patio door. Checked the laundry room (separate "building" from the main house) for a screwdriver to pop the door but couldn't find one. DH's car is locked, he has the key. Called DH, he said if I checked HIS blazer there was a screwdriver there. Yep, there was, popped the front door and got in. That could have been disasterous!
On the positive side, I am down to 141, 1 lb away from my original goal of 140. 20 lbs since July. Now my goal has changed to 137 by Christmas then maybe 135. Still can't figure where it went to, I am wearing the same size clothes I was in July. No loss in the boobs or belly where I usually loose it. I can feel that I have a waist again though.

I was a BADDDDDDD girl last night though, I had one of those Betty Crocker Warm Delights dessert things. It was a Cinnamon cake thing. It was ok but not that great.

Had a great thing for breakfast. Two 6" tortillas spread with cream cheese, cinnamon & brown sugar with a sliced apple inbetween cooked in a skillet. That was good!

Spot kitty jumped up on my stitching table this morning and looked at me like "Are we going to stitch again today?" Maybe later but I'll make sure he is out.

Here we go again

Get the ark ready, it's thundering, lightening, very dark grey and it's raining. DH called from work at 10AM and asked how bad it was raining here on the compound but it isn't quite pouring yet, raining yes but not the normal 10 minute hurricane like normal.
So much for walking today, guess I'll hve to do an extra 30 minute work out today.

The dumb cats are hiding under the car to keep from getting wet. They didn't HAVE to run out the door in the first place.

Good day to dig through the stash to find something to stitch on.

Who do I believe?

Ok so when I started the SparkPeople journey back in July after getting reamed by my dr, my goal was to go from 160lbs to 140lbs. I was 149 when I left HOME on Oct 10, this morning I weighed myself and it read 143 or 65 kilos. That means I am almost at my original goal of 140, BUT I am going to change that to 135. I am loosing pounds but no inches. I am still trying to adjust to being a type 2 diabetic but I have a dr appt today so we will see what she says. I did find a website that was suggested in one of my information books which helped me do menu planning. Woo Hoo.

I got another gift yesterday! I went to go out the door to walk and there was Ms Hunter with another bird. She was VERY animate about bringing it in to me. I walked around to the patio and told her thank you but she wasn't taking it into the house. So I get in the house from my walk and there, right next to my shoes, were remenants of the bird! DH said she just shot past him when he got done with his walk and tried to put the damn bird IN MY SHOE! She only brings dead things to ME, NOT dh, just me! Thank you Annie!

Here is my picture of the day from my walk today. It's the front of my villa. They whacked down all the bushes the other day. There is an Okra bush in the front all along the curb. The gardner loves to plant random stuff.

I made a batch of that cabbage soup the other day and we've been eating that for dinner along with other food. We went out on Thursday going from this new fancy mall to the other new fancy mall. One mall had a GNC store so I got my daily vitamins. They are like horse pills and they make my pee green! I want vitamin pills, like One A Day, but you can't find those here. I want the real world back even if it is for only a couple days so I can get all the stuff I had to leave behind because I had to take stuff back for our friend.

Anyway, that is my story for today!

Back in hell

Wow, what a slap in the face! Stepping out of the plane door into the HUMID HOT evening was like a slap in the face. I wasn't at the bottom of the steps yet (NO JETWAYS in this country) and I was sweating. It may have only been 90F but it was humid as all get out. UGH! IT wasn't much better this morning either. The traffic is 100 times worse than when I left in May, not fun at all. At least my luggage made it without incident this time.

The house is infested with fucking fleas! Every step and there are hundreds of the bastards. I hope there is enough flea powder in this country to get rid of them. It's beyond horrible!

I checked in at Lufthansa in Boston and was told I needed to pay a $139 re booking fee! When the travel agent here re booked my flight from a 10:30PM flight to the 4:15 PM flight they DIDN'T tell him there was a fee. THEN the check in agent couldn't see how long my visa was good for and hesitated about it. I got all that checked in and on my way through security. No problem at all with the flight to Frankfurt. I got there at 5:30AM and nothing was open. I didn't get much sleep on the plane, it was only a 5 hour flight so 1/2 of it was taken up with serving food & drinks which left 2 hours for sleep. I probably got about an hours worth.
THEN the assholes in Frankfurt were NOT going to let me on the plane because of the visa issue again. They couldn't read where it said how long it was good for so they had to call someone who read Arabic. I kept telling them it is ALWAYS good for 6 months. They couldn't accept my answer.
Flight to hell was ok, the seats and seating area are so much smaller on Lufthansa than others but I had an isle seat and the flight wasn't full. It was continuing on to Eritrea. Immigration & customs were easy, waiting on the luggage took forever it seemed.
Then fighting the horrible, miserable traffic home was beyond life threatning!

Now to get on with life here.

The cats were glad to see me. Of course, scratch me, the fleas are bothering me.

The bags are unpacked so I guess I am staying. EEEWWWW

Another furbaby gone

Our Roxie girl passed away Tuesday night, a week after Miss Oreos. My husband found her under a bush in the front yard. She was deaf, going blind, had no teeth, she had arthiritis in her hip, but she was a cuddly, furry, VERY vocal sweetheart. I am heartbroken once again. The worst part is I can't find any pictures of her on this computer in this country. DH thinks she was sad with Oreos gone and went to join her. They never did get along in life so I know they are cuddling and playing together over Rainbow Bridge.

I just hope our two younger kitties don't join them, I would loose it completely.

It's just not a good day

First I get the e-mail from my husband that my Oreos baby went over Rainbow Bridge during the night. He found her on the floor on my side of the bed in front of my nightstand, she hadn't laid there in years. He says he was looking for me to tell me good bye.

Then I pick up my bloodwork results from the dr's office and it isn't a whole lot better than last month. Not a bit. So all this change of diet, no bread, rice, potatoes, low sodium, low carb, low calorie, walking, 6 lb weight loss and nothing moved. My thyroid numbers went up or whatever isn't good, blood sugar levels are still high. The nurse practioner called me this evening and told me that my dr. wants to up my thyroid meds and I need to repeat my bloodwork in a month. Whoopie, and that will do what good? It will be too late to do anything by then since I have to go back overseas a week later. It just seems so fustrating right now. I did however manage to ask if she could get me in to see a nutritionist and she said she will do that first thing in the morning.
On the bright side I guess is that my eyes are still good. She said they did look better than last year so I guess that is something positive.

Yankees are playing Boston for 3 days so I'll get to see the games at least. I bought a Yankee shirt in WalMart today, it was on sale for $7.00. It's the interlocking NY with the Red, White & Blue colors that were on their hats during the 4th of July games. I was excited. I got a couple Christmast presents for my husband too. Whoopie.

They started working on the back of my house today. they got almost 1/2 way up from the bottom done. It looks good so far. Can't wait for it to be done.

My Oreos Kitty

April 1989-August 26, 2008. My daughter brought this teeny, tiny cuddly 8 week old baby kitty home one day and we kept her for 19 years. She is no longer in pain and is resting with her favorite toy underneath our bedroom window.
(The one picture above is her taking a nap on the rug in the bathroom where it was warm.)

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Counting down

AS of this post, only 13 more wailing hours to go.
At least my suitcases are all packed, (Yes V, everything fit). Nothing else is done however. My stitching projects aren't packed, my exchange projects aren't packed, my carry on isn't packed, the house hasn't been scrubbed down. I just can't get into it anymore. Just get me to the airport, on the plane and get me home.

Took the last of the cats to the vets last night. WE took the baby Spot, he actually was pretty good, he got his shots and got checked to make sure they got all of his boy "bits" when he was neutered. He likes to back up against things, lift his tail, and try to spray, nothing comes out but he loves to try.
While we were there, the Customs & immigration people were there with a couple of their dogs. It made me so mad, one of the dogs looked so skinny, you could see his/her ribs. It looked like the dog had gotten hurt, most likely beaten by some asshole. These people have no clue how to treat these dogs, they are pure bred German Shepherds, beautiful dogs. I don't know if they are used to sniff the incomming or outgoing luggage at the airports, or if they are used to intimidate third world laborors comming into the kingdom.

I've cooked a bit, we had chicken fried steak with potato salad & 3 bean salad one night, Pancit Bihon another night, last night it was take out, tonight is grilled hot dogs, potato salad, 3 bean
salad and watermelon.

At 12:50 it is 36.4C

One last week

This time next week, I'll be running around last minute packing. I leave for the airport next Wednesday. This is my last weekend in hell so I need to make a list of the last minute things I need to get. As I type this, 38 more wailing hours to go.

AT 12:15 PM, it's 37.8C (or 100.0F)

I've become less and less visible on the message boards. I need my vacation so by not posting, I'm not tempted to say how I really feel. (as in shut up and quit whining)

I was not well the other day, major painful stomach or intestinal cramps through my whole stomach and abdomen which caused my pulse to beat so fast and my blood pressure to sky rocket and I couldn't catch my breath, I was dizzy. I don't know if it's something I ate or drank or my blood pressure just decided to climb. I took a second BP pill and felt much better. I was a little better on Tuesday. See, even thought I quit smoking (6 WHOLE MONTHS NOW!) my blood pressure is stilk sky high even thought I take my pill every day

We took the cat from hell to the vets on Sunday. She howled, yowled and screeched all the way across town, she didn't want me touching her through the cage, she tried to rock the cage and push it open with her butt. She ran up one side of DH and down the other, she dug her claws in and just howled and screeched and had those Cujo type eyes. She just wouldn't calm down one bit for the vet to look at any part of her. She just wiggled, fought every second. He had to put her in a "cat crusher" cage to give her a shot. It's a small cage and one side pulls towards the middle so it holds the cat against the side of the cage. I personally saw NOTHING wrong with this cage, it helped him give Annie Hellcat her shots.

I did finish side 1 of the biscornu I was working and started side 2. This side is being stitched on red linen with rayon floss. I updated my tripod photo album
http://bedounlady-ivil.tripod.com/index.html

This past week I fixed home made pizza, spinach noodles & fresh vegetables & tofu parmigiana (THANKS AGAIN Meggie)

Internet broke

Incase you dont' see me on, our internet is down. We buy cards each month, like phone cards and DH forgot to buy one the other day. He had to attatch this connection to his phone or hook it up somehow.

Mets beat the Yankees yesterday, no big surprise there. They just plain suck this year so far.

Gotta take kitty #3 to vets today for a general check up & shots.

Fixed pasta noodles with vegetables last night, tonight is chilled bean salad with grilled chicken.

Ramblings on Monday

Took Kitty #2 to vets. Poor Ms Roxie, the Vet confirmed she is 100% deaf, about 80% blind, she has 1 tooth and she has arthritis. Other than that she is doing well, he said there is no reason to put her down yet, just keep her comfortable. I'm just tired of her peeing all over the place.

I didn't cook for Mother's day, we went to the food court in the mall and I got a delicious Thai chicken wrap sandwich. It was good DH bought me a couple of patio table torch lights (not flashlights) the kind you put oil in to keep bugs away. I am going to take those home and see how they work.

I did call my mother, she is doing OK, has to go for a mammogram this week and see about having a tumorous cyst that she has had for years removed. I hope everything is OK.

My sister is single again, her divorce was final last week, after over 35 years of marriage. My niece has lost over 110 lbs after her gastric bypass surgery.

I did stitch a little bit yesterday on my Vee&Co patriotic biscornu. I am stitching it on 32 count Millennium blue linen with DMC variegated threads. The hard part about stitching this one is that I started it too close to the edge of the fabric and it won't fit all the way on the q-snap right and I can't stitch in hand.

Yankees beat Seattle so they are on a 3 game win streak, YAY

I made chicken shwarmas for dinner.

I put in 2 stitches on my needleroll project on Saturday

I fixed stir fried vegetables & rice Saturday night for supper

At 2:00PM today, May 4, it's 35.1C (95.2)

Saturday, May 3, 2008

We went to a new mall on Thursday. We walked 3 1/2 hours browsing and didn't see 1/2 of it. AT one entrance there were 3 of those electric scooter carts. I stood there for quite awhile just debating should I? What would they do if a woman was on one of those since driving is forbidden, illegal, against the law and just not allowed in this country. Does that go for those scooters too?

We started out going to my LNS for some beads, buttons, trim and fabric. I got buttons & trim and a few skeins of floss. The floss here comes from France with different labels on than American floss. That problem with DMC from last week will not affect the American floss.

Friday I couldn't sit still, I kept jumping up and down straightening, cleaning, doing laundry etc.
Thursday we had Popeye's chicken Friday we had the left over slop from Tuesday.

I finally got that floss order from January.

I found out Friday that one of my kitties is going blind. Poor Roxie is deaf, only has 2 teeth, walks with a limp and now she's going blind. I don't know how old she is but we've had her 9 years. We got her from a friend who was leaving and couldn't take her with them.

I haven't stitched since Wednesday, I need to get stitching.

An idea for floss

I picked up a couple of these items the other day. They look like they were made from floss or thread, braided then wound around. One is the pretty pastel and the other one is very vibrant, bright primary colors. I think you put them on cell phones or those iPod things. I thought they were neat.
floss fobs 2floss fob 2

I've been browsing the Online Needlework show and found a few things I like. Some cute new fobs from Sekas & Co, a couple new charts from Sue Hillis, Oh La La & One More stitch, Summer Biscornu from Barbara Ana. Then I was looking at the newsletter from ABC Stitch Therapy (my LNS) and saw a cute pattern but I didn't save the picture to my wish list and spent almost all day Friday looking for it again. Then the Stitches N Things newsletter came out and there it is, Moose by Moonlight from Glendon Place, I LOVE it.
I got my friend Velda a couple new lamps on Thursday but need to go back today to get her favorite one. The lamps I've been buying her are really neat, they will make a GREAT addition to her Middle East inspired living room. I also saw a purse I kind of like so I might buy that too. I HATE purse shopping so this is a miracle for me.

My poor boy kitty Spot got beat up the other day by one of the stray cats. He is fine but his leg got scratched and bit up so he's been under house arrest for a few days and he's not at all happy about that. He keeps whining to go out and we won't let him. He's gotta learn to quit being the street bully.
Thursday night I fixed some Aloo Gobi, an Indian dish that we can't get at our favorite Indian restaurant then DH went to the Indian place and got some Chicken Jalfrezi, Butter chicken, dahl, rice and nan bread to go with it. MMMMMMmmmm the rest of the stuff was good but that aloo gobi didn't turn out right like we remember. So we had leftovers on Friday night.

Saturday

I actually got up early for a change, got up at 7AM, looked out the door and it had rained during the night. Not just blobs but rain. The whole patio was wet, the patio table, both the cars and the whole street, it must have been some rain and I missed it. VERY unusual for this time of year. Now it's very humid outside. 85F/29.5C at 9:30AM.

So this is "Rivalry weekend". The Yankees are in Bahstan for 3 games and we took the first game! GO YANKEES!

The hunter stuck again Friday. Miss Annie brought me another bird, the 2nd one this week. She pranced around the patio with it then brought it in the house and pranced around with it before she ran into the kitchen under the table with it. Pretty proud of herself again, LOL.

I love making people happy, my weakness is spoiling my friends. Well Thursday we went back to that shop from last week and I bought my friend Velda a couple lamps. They were a LOT cheaper than I thought they would be. I thought I bought 2 different kinds but the guy got confused and only put 2 lamps in the box. They were so friendly this time and he said I could take pictures of what ever I wanted to, so I did. I took pictures of some more lamps for V and sent them to her. She chose the ones she wants so we will go back maybe this week to get them.

While we were in the shop waiting for the guy to box up the lamps DH & I both saw these BEAUTIFUL oil or tart burners at the same time. I looked at them and so did DH. I said how pretty they were and he said the same thing at the same time. I asked him which one he liked best so I could get it for him for our anniversary later this month, he was thinking the same thing! This is getting really strange, we think alike and at the same time on SO MANY things lately, pretty freaky. We ended up getting 2 of the burner things for each other since I can't get out on my own to buy things. I bought the Eagle for him and he bought the Dolphins for me.

I should have gone out and did my walk earlier but I didn't so now it's off to do the walk.

Last night we had steak, baked potato, mushy peas, steamed broccoli & cauliflower. We found something different to put on our baked potatoes. Here they have stuff called Breakfast Creme, not sure just what it is but it tastes like it is one step up from yogurt but not sour cream, cream cheese nor whipped cream but it is just perfect! Not really sure what is for dinner tonight. I did take some dried pork out to rehydrate it for something. Yes, I have pork, the forbidden, illegal meat. A couple years ago, I got a food dehydrator and dried some pork strips & wafer thin lunch meat, put it in vacuum bags then in empty doggie treat boxes and brought it back. I don't know what the big deal is, IT IS FOR MY PERSONAL USE, I am not going to share ANY of it with muslims, it's MINE, ALL MINE!

Internet problems

Update to the post below! It's now after 1PM in the afternoon, up until about 1/2 hour ago, the internet was just fine and dandy, not super fast like it USED to be but faster than yesterday. NOT all of a sudden, that mouse has died! This SO sucks!

A Holy CRAP moment! I was out doing my vigorous walk this morning when these wet blobs started dropping on me from the sky! That was a definate rare thing! I did see that it was very grey, cloudy and overcast this morning but sheesh it's already rained it's normal 2 days this year and it's April which adds to the rare occurrence (sorry, the spell checker hasn't worked in months on this thing)

Well if you don't see me for awhile it's because the mouse this country uses to power the kingdomwide internet hasn't been fed in a month or so and it's dying and just doesn't run around on that power wheel as often as it should. My connection was absoultely horrible yesterday, it took forever for anything to load if it did, so rather than get my blood pressure in a worse condition that it is, I just walked away from the computer and stitched. Hopefully I can check around a little bit today.

Yesterday I stitched more on this exchange piece. I got one side done, had to frog about 100 stitches on the bottom letter since it was off by 2 stitches. The fabric is darker that the scan shows and the floss is much prettier. Unfortunately because of the problems I had withe the floss at the begining of the piece, the color changes don't line up right on both sides. For those that don't know, if you turn your head sideways so your left ear is pointed to your shoulder, you should be able to read what the tree says. It says Pals.

I took all my "must do" projects and put them in a tote bag by my stitching table so I can get them done. I have 6 pieces that NEED to be done by May 26, 3 are exchanges and 3 are for family

Well the hunter scored again yesterday, Miss Annie got herself another bird again. This one was a large Mourning dove, there were feathers all over the yard and the patio, who knew one of those birds could have so many feathers. She was pretty damn proud of herself too.

I need to say this now, since everytime I say something about it on my blog, the alternate happens and life goes on. I am on day 124 of my so called "menstrual cycle", I haven't had a period since December 6. Can this be? Is it over? I have had hot flashes, night sweats, extremely dry skin and a few other symptoms and I WAS diagnosed a few years ago as being peri-menopausal so hopefully it's finally here!! I will however keep that bottom shelf full of tampons & pads just in case since I can't buy tampons here.

The other night I fixed the Cheese & Chili "Souffle" for supper. It was pretty good but a little watery. Of course I had to add more cheese, broccoli & cauliflower to the mixture. We finished it up last night. Tonight will be Spinach Citrus salad.

Ok, well I"ve rambled on long enough, I HOPE this posts, so if I normally post on any message boards that you read and I"m not posting, it's my fucked up internet connection again.
